A news reporter’s piece to camera about the plight of a missing man was bizarrely interrupted as the missing man himself wandered into shot.

Norm Karkos was about to prepare a report on 73-year-old Robert McDonough, who had been missing for more than 14 hours, when he strolled into shot over his shoulder as the report was about to go live.

Karkos, reporting for WMTW in Portland, Maine, greeted McDonough cordially, unaware at first of his identity, before doing a clear double take. The crew then alerted called the Maine Warden Service.

"Well, sometimes timing is everything," Karkos said, when he next went live to his studio anchor.
