TweetAdder, which describes itself as the ‘Ferrari of Twitter marketing software’ has agreed that it and its employees will stop practices contrary to Twitter’s terms of service.

Twitter has now settled on-going litigation with TweetAdder, who claims the creator of R2D2 in Star Wars uses its service, as part of its battle against spam.

Launching the case last year, Twitter said: “We filed suit in federal court in San Francisco against five of the most aggressive tool providers and spammers. With this suit, we’re going straight to the source.

“By shutting down tool providers, we will prevent other spammers from having these services at their disposal. Further, we hope the suit acts as a deterrent to other spammers, demonstrating the strength of our commitment to keep them off Twitter.”

The bottom of TweetAdder’s website states ‘As a reminder, TweetAdder users must comply with Twitter’s Terms of Service.’
