The Scottish Government has confirmed that Newhaven has dropped its legal challenge against the Scottish Ministers Marketing Services Framework.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Government told The Drum: “We welcome Newhaven Communication’s decision to abandon its legal challenge to the award of the Multi-lot Marketing Services framework. SG is clear that the procurement was carried out properly and correctly."

The procurement department of the government has been the main target for agency frustration, with claims that 'anomalies' have been discovered by agencies.

The spokesperson added: “The framework has now been awarded and will commence on 1 June, delivering value to the Scottish taxpayer and business opportunities to Scottish SMEs, who make up over 70 per cent of the successful bidders.”

Its not clear whether the government has reached a financial settlement to persuade Newhaven to drop its case.

Newhaven was unable to comment at the time of writing.
