Volvo Cars in Scandinavia has collaborated with members of Swedish House Mafia to release a new version of ‘Leave the World Behind’, with the song and the video to be the leading theme in Volvo’s forthcoming global launch campaign for the Volvo XC60.

Marketing manager at Volvo Cars, Per Carleö, commented: “All Volvo’s XC cars are designed around people’s wish to get out there and to leave your everyday life behind for a while. So we thought that the members of Swedish House Mafia were the obvious choice.”

The new campaign aims to explain the Swedish heart of Volvo and the core of Scandinavian lifestyle in a relevant yet credible way, and as Swedish House Mafia are one of the world’s most successful Swedish acts they seemed like the perfect fit. The new version of ‘Leave the World Behind’ is one of the last projects the band worked on together before their split after one final appearance at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami on 24 March.

To promote the collaboration Volvo has since released an exclusive behind the scenes look at the making of the ‘Leave the World Behind’ video (see above).
