Former BBC News and Channel 4 journalist Zaiba Malik takes up role at PR agency Grayling

PR agency Grayling has appointed former BBC News and Channel 4 News journalist Zaiba Malik as director in its corporate and financial practice, while taking on a leadership role for its media training team and joining the agency's UK Crisis Board.

Named one of the 20 most influential back and Asian women in the UK, Malik's work has been nominated for BAFTA and Royal Television Society Awards and her memoir was nominated for the Orwell prize.

Alison Clarke, Grayling's CEO of UK and Ireland, said: "We are delighted that Zaiba has joined Grayling and brings a real depth of experience from her 15 years in journalism.

"She will be a huge asset in providing strategic media counsel to our clients, particularly on corporate reputation issues."

Malike has worked across BBC News, Newsnight, World Service, Channel 4, Radio 4 and the Guardian.
