Former Dragon's Den judge, Doug Richard, has asked would-be entrepreneurs to pitch him their best business ideas in six seconds as part of his Launch Me campaign.

The only condition is that entrants use video app Vine and tweet the idea using the hashtag #S4SLaunchMe.

Three finalists, selected on May 28, will then be given the chance to take part in a live Google+ Hangout to convince Doug of their business proposal in order to secure a £10,000 loan for their idea.

In addition to the funding, the winning applicant will also receive ongoing business advice from Doug and enjoy a private lunch with him.

The Launch Me competition was set up as part of Richard’s Launcher programme aimed at providing funding for 18-30 year-old budding entrepreneurs.

Commenting on the initiative Richard said: “It is vital people can pitch their business ideas as succinctly as possible, so by using Vine, entrants are encouraged to do just that.

“The competition invites participants to be creative with their social channels and makes the most of Google+ Hangout - an ideal space for us to engage with Launcher applicants.”
