The Lane Agency has announced a merger with Taste Design, which will see the agency head up The Lane’s newly enhanced design division.

This news coincides with the appointment of advertising industry stalwart David Reid, who has joined The Lane as its creative director of advertising.

Taste co-founder Claire MacIntyre, who is now client services director within The Lane, said: “After six years as a small independent agency, we’re delighted to be making a move that will enable us to expand our offering to clients. Through the merger with Ali and her team we can offer clients a greater digital service, plus access to an even bigger range of resources and talent.

“We’re hugely proud of everything we achieved under the Taste banner, including major wins against some of Scotland’s biggest agencies. As part of an expanded Lane Agency we believe we will be even better placed to outshine our competitors and offer our expertise to a broad range of clients.”

Co-founder Gus MacIntyre will hold the role of creative director.

The Lane Agency managing director, Ali Findlay, said: “Claire and Gus have a great track record in delivering high quality work for clients and I feel that we can continue to build on this by working closely together. Taste’s creative credentials combined with David Reid’s appointment as executive creative director marks a very exciting time for The Lane. It will really bolster our digital and advertising capabilities and further enhance our position as a full service agency.”

The pair will relocate to the Edinburgh-based agency.
