PR man dies from “overwork”

A 24 year old employee of Ogilvy & Mather in Beijing has reportedly died of a heart attack at his desk.

The Yangzi Evening News reported that Li Yuan regularly worked until 11.00pm. The young worker reportedly “cried out and suddenly fell to the ground while at work at 5pm on Monday local time.”

The report added: “Colleagues called emergency services and he was rushed to hospital, but eventually died. Doctors said he had suffered a heart attack.”

The agency’s China twitter account confirmed the news.

“Unfortunately the sad news is true. @OgilvyPR Beijing has lost 1 of our own. He was loved by all of us. Thank u for your kind msgs”, it tweeted.

The worker had reportedly worked until 11.00pm each night in the month preceding his death.

According to reports, the worker’s final message posted on the Sina Weibo social network included a photo of him saluting the camera and signing off.
