BT released its first TV advert for the upcoming BT Sport channels ahead of their summer launch just hours after announcing that its broadband customers will receive the service free.

The ad features a host of sports stars and presenters and is part of an extensive marketing campaign to promote the new service, a direct rival to Sky Sports with exclusive Barclays Premier League and rugby union matches.

Spurs star Gareth Bale, Manchester United's Robin van Persie, Daniel Sturridge of Liverpool and England goalkeeper Joe Hart have signed three year deals to be at the forefront of BT marketing campaigns for the service.

As well as the new TV service, BT recently announced plans to relaunch its website which will include news and editorial content provided by the Press Association.
