National Vegetarian Week 2013 has worked with digital branding and motion agency Creative Spark to create a new campaign to promote the event.

The agency was appointed following a pitch to promote the annual awareness event from the Vegetarian Society.

Running across online and print the creative leads with the message ‘Surprisingly Simple’ and uses clean, retro illustrations of fruit and vegetables in vibrant colours to represent the theme of this year’s week which takes place from Monday 20 May to Sunday 26 May.

“We are pleased with the fresh direction that Creative Spark has taken with the 2013 National Vegetarian Week campaign. This year we are promoting how simple vegetarian cooking can be and they have represented this beautifully with iconic illustrations. We look forward to seeing how the public embrace this campaign,” said the Vegetarian Society’s head of communications, Liz O’Neil.

Neil Marra, founder and creative director at Creative Spark, added: “With National Vegetarian Week we wanted to bring some new icons that are fresh and iconic enough to be used across the whole campaign that features on flyers, posters, press ads and online. The retro illustrations and the colour palette of the creative works really well with the messaging.”

The campaign is now live online with the print campaign to be rolled out until the event at the end of May.
