BBC appoints Roger Mosey to newly created position of editorial director
The BBC has announced that Roger Mosey, previously the BBC’s director of Olympic coverage, has been appointed to the newly created ‘troubleshooter’ role of editorial director.
Working across TV, radio and news, Mosey will be in charge of handling any major editorial issues that arise, in the wave of several scandals at the news corporation.
Lord Hall, the BBC director general, said: "It is crucial that we dedicate the right amount of skill and expertise to addressing the myriad of editorial challenges that we face across the BBC's output every week.
"Roger's experience in news and sport, including leading our Olympics coverage, and most recently television, make him ideally placed to fulfil this role."
The BBC has said in a statement that Mosey will remain on his current total salary of £277,800.
