Orkney Tourism Group has announced the appointment of Bright Blue Day to produce its visitor guide, previously produced by the national tourism agency VisitScotland.

The account, worth an estimated £130,000+ over the contract period, will see not only the production of the annual visitor guide but a strategic marketing drive to promote the islands.

Eric Witham, account director and head of Bright Blue Day Scotland, said: “Our aim is to promote Orkney and support small tourism businesses, our ideas link traditional print work with use of technology such as Blippar to bring images and stories of the islands to life. We will use segmentation and profiling to carefully target future visitors to these beautiful islands.”

Yesterday, The Drum announced the appointment of OpenBrolly to handle the digital for Orkney Tourism Group.
