Marmalade Melbourne have created a national awareness campaign for the beyondblue depression support organization, featuring Ben Mendelsohn, seen recently in The Dark Knight Rises.

The $2 million campaign features Mendelsohn in a “mesmerising performance” challengeing viewers to take action to recognize depression.

"We were incredibly pleased to be involved in this project with beyondblue. Securing Ben to headline our creative was a real bonus,” said John Akritidis, Marmalade creative director.

“His skill is quite amazing to watch on set. We are very proud of the work we have done for such an important issue."

beyondblue chairman The Hon. Jeff Kennett said the campaign aimed to help Australians recognise their own undiagnosed anxiety symptoms and to seek help.

"We hope by informing Australians about anxiety symptoms, they can identify it, get help and get better. You have to know anxiety to be free from it," he said.

Marmalade Melbourne's film will be shown in cinemas, on Facebook and YouTube
