Zurich Insurance Group has announced that Interpublic, represented by McCann Worldgroup, has been named as its new global marketing agency following pitches from its current Publicis Group and WPP.

The Interpublic Group solution included input from McCann Erickson, MRM and UM.

The future assignment will be led by McCann Worldgroup and covers advertising, media and digital/interactive marketing services.

It is planned that the team will provide unified marketing services operating in all global geographies, ensuring the Zurich brand is efficiently and effectively brought to life.

The parties are currently working towards contract signing.

The Swiss-based financial services company launched the agency review almost a year ago after having selected Publicis in 2004 as a marketing partner in most of its key markets like Europe, North America and Asia.

Michael I. Roth, chairman and CEO of Interpublic Group, said: "We are honored to be selected by Zurich and to have the opportunity to contribute to their business in a meaningful way globally.

“This kind of integrated model is one that we have championed at our company, and it's a model that's tailor made for a company like Zurich."
