Discount website MyVoucherCodes has appointed mobile app marketing technology firm Fiksu in a six-figure deal designed to drive the site's mobile market share.

Mobile: MyVoucherCodes has appointed Fiksu

A trial period in March saw the MyVoucherCodes app reach number 10 in the iTunes Lifestyle store and the site estimated approximately 35 per cent of traffic currently comes from mobile.

Founder of MyVoucherCodes, Mark Pearson, said: "We're really showing our teeth by appointing Fiksu, choosing to invest further in mobile as it's a proven user base and source of revenue for us.

"The app, which has two million users at present, has benefited from a number of innovations and this is another declaration of our intent to build on our strong mobile foundations.

"The UK has the highest number of smartphone users aged under-35 in the world according to ComScore and these are the people we want to target as we aim to increase loyalty among users with out discounts and constant hunger to innovate."

Micah Adler, CEO of Fiksu, added: "MyVoucherCodes and Fiksu were gratified to see MVC's app achieve a top 10 ranking in the lifestyle category of the App Store.

"Thanks to the enhanced visibility in the App Store, MVC acquired more than one free, organic user for every user they acquired through spending with Fiksu, effectively doubling the impact of their marketing spend. In addition, almost 40 per cent of the total users acquired quickly became loyal users, engaging with the MyVoucherCodes app three or more times."

MyVoucherCodes is owned by the Markco Media Group and reported sales in excess of £600m in 2011.
