Help the Hospices has today unveiled a new website and free app for the international hospice and palliative care sector, called ehospice.

ehospice will be available as both an iPhone and mobile web app, with 10 different editions set to run globally.

Help the Hospices will run the UK edition, with different editions set to run in the US, South Africa, Australia and India, run by international partners. All editions, developed by HeadChannel, are available from the one website and app, bringing together the expertise and experience of the global palliative care community.

David Praill, chief executive of Help the Hospices and co-chair of the Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance and Dr Liz Gwyther, chief executive of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of South Africa, said: “The vision of ehospice is to be part of a networked world, collaborating and communicating to improve patient care. None of us act in isolation, although we may often feel that we are working on our own. ehospice is designed to reduce isolation in day-to-day hospice and palliative care work.”

The platform looks to help professionals and others to share information, advice and resources and ultimately improve patient care.
