Johnson & Johnson has unveiled a new app called ‘Donate a Photo’, which has been described as “a mobile app that turns photo sharing into a way to conveniently contribute to important causes.”

Developed by R/GA, the free app can be downloaded from the Apple and Google Play stores. Through the app, the user can then take or select a photo, choose a cause, and share via Twitter and Facebook. For each photo shared via the app, Johnson & Johnson has committed to donating $1 to the user’s cause of choice, and each photo will be tagged with a phrase indicating what the contribution will help accomplish in order to help spread the word.

Johnson & Johnson explained: “For example, if you choose to donate to Keep America Beautiful, the photo you share will say, “This photo helped restore a public park.””

The photos will also be displayed in a gallery at donateaphoto.com.
