Over half (54 per cent) of smartphone owners claim to have used their device to browse for products, whilst just under 40 per cent have gone on to make a purchase, research from eDigitalResearch and IMRG has found.

The research found that books, music and clothes are the items that people are most likely to buy online, with clothes the area that has seen the largest growth between 2010 and 2013.

While it seems there has been growth in the mobile arena, it has not affected everyone, with Sony Ericsson and Nokia both seeing a year on year drop since 2010.
