A PR agency has been launched by duo John Quinton-Barber, former press officer for the Millennium Commission and former journalist and principal press officer at Manchester City Council, Caty Cartwright.

Quinton-Barber brings 20 years' experience to the venture, Social Public Relations, including time at Ogilvy PR, Places for People and SKV PR in Manchester. In his most recent stint as director of IPB Communications he brought in business from Tesco and RWE Npower Renewables.

"I've had 20 good years in the industry and I've been very fortunate to work on some nationally significant high profile projects as well as with some of the biggest household names in the UK," said Quinton-Barber.

"This is the right time to launch what we know will be a successful agency."

Quinton-Barber's partner in the business - based in Sale, Greater Manchester - is Cartwright, who was principal press officer at Manchester City Council following 10 years as head of property at SKV PR.

Social PR officially launched on Monday but has already secured clients in the housing and development sector.
