Zingy is set to return to TV screens tonight, as EDF Energy unveils a new campaign to promote its Blue +Price Promise tariff.

Created by AMV BBDO, the ad sees Zingy ride on the back of a basset hound, with the ads set to air during Broadchurch on ITV, Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA on Channel 4 and the Manchester derby on Sky Sports.

The campaign is also set to include outdoor placements, direct mail and outdoor ads from 15 April, and will launch with digital and social media activity.

Cameron Hughes, head of brand at EDF Energy, said: “Our brand mascot Zingy has proved incredibly popular with UK consumers, bringing to life our Feel Better Energy proposition and positioning EDF Energy as behaving differently within the energy sector. We’re proud that since the launch of Feel Better Energy a year ago, one million energy accounts have switched to Blue, demonstrating how the tariff is in tune with what consumers want from their energy provider.”

The advertising campaign was created by London-based AMV BBDO, with Havas Media handling media strategy and placement and Wunderman leading below-the-line activity.
