To celebrate the addition of windows to its electric Twizy model Renault has worked with Publicis to create a new press advert.

Launched last April, the 100 per cent electric urban compact two-seater had open sides but Renault has now added the optional extra of windows to the UK market, in order to make the car more versatile.

The press ad, which will appear first in today’s T3 magazine, plays on the brand’s French heritage and the car’s silence to demonstrate the new feature using a Marcel Marceau-esque mime artist pressed against a glass screen in reference to the Renault Twizy’s new windows.

“The Renault Twizy is an incredibly fun car and we wanted to reflect that playfulness to let people know that the Twizy now comes with windows – something we’re sure British drivers will appreciate given the vagaries of our weather,” said Publicis London deputy managing director Jason Cobbold.

Media planning and buying for the campaign was handled by OMD.
