David Longden has been appointed as group chief executive of Tgthr Group, the independent, full service marketing group which includes the Golley Slater companies.

Longden has been a leading figure at Tgthr for nearly seven years and prior to being named chief executive he held the role of chief operating officer for two years.

Before joining Tgthr Longden held senior UK and global marketing roles at Vodafone and Zurich Financial Services, he is a former MD of Brann Worldwide, now part of the Havas Group.

Longden takes over the role from current chief executive Chris Lovell who will stand down to focus on a number of other commercial and charitable interests as well as holding a non-executive director role at the Tgthr Group.

Lovell said: “It has not been an easy decision to move away from the day to day management of the business after 10 years at the helm but I am keen to explore a couple of new avenues. I’ve worked with David for a number of years and I am confident that now is the time for me to step back and for him to lead the business to the next level.”

Longden added: “To say I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the role is an understatement. I have a great team here and I’m grateful for the support and guidance that Chris Lovell has given me prior to his decision to step down.”
