McDonald's launches Monopoly Fortunes prize giveaway with online functionality

Monopoly Fortunes runs for eight weeks

McDonald’s has launched its latest Monopoly prize giveaway which this time includes ways to collect online.

With game mechanics and creative elements by The Marketing Store, Monopoly Fortunes goes live from today (Wednesday 20 March) and runs for six weeks across McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.

The Marketing Store has devised and delivered the mechanics of the game, covering the production of the game pieces, packaging art-work, logistics and management of prize handling, fulfilment and game security. Along with the fast-food retailer and its partner agencies, including Leo Burnett and ad buyer OMD, The Marketing Store has also conceived elements of a heavyweight advertising campaign running across TV, print, digital and POS.

The game’s Collect to Win element has been moved online and optimised to work on mobile and tablet devices. Players are now able to collect game stickers from McDonald’s qualifying menu items and play Monopoly Fortunes digitally by entering a unique code from each sticker onto a virtual game board. Online players are also guaranteed to win a prize each time they enter a code online.

Offline players will still get game stickers on qualifying menu items for the chance to pick up Instant Win prizes. Monopoly Fortunes prizes include £50,000 cash, 20 Honda Civic cars, 1250 Best Western Hotel breaks and millions of McDonald’s food prizes.
