Online hotel reservation company Venere has announced the appointment of Tradedoubler to handle its affiliate marketing campaign strategy in various countries.

Tradedoubler is launching Venere.com affiliate programs in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain; as the company plans to expand worldwide while at the same time reinforcing its position for its core European markets.

Spyros Assonitis, director of global marketing at Venere.com, says: "Customers are moving online to book their travel and accommodation and our offering is proving attractive. But in this highly competitive marketplace, working with a trusted and truly international partner known for its ability to generate new revenues is essential for us. Knowing that Tradedoubler works with our parent company, Expedia, and understands the travel market were important factors in awarding them the business."

Jon Lord, group director for corporate clients at Tradedoubler, added: "Venere.com is a significant international player in the online travel market and we're delighted to welcome another Expedia brand to the network. It's our job to ensure that we're getting the Venere.com proposition in front of consumers, across all 10 markets, so when they are researching, planning and then finally booking their trips Venere is front of mind throughout the purchase journey."

It is expected that the online travel agent market will grow by eight per cent by 2014.
