Apple has run into some problems with its new music streaming service, according to a report from the New York Post.

iRadio, as it is rumoured to be named, is Apple’s answer to Spotify. It will be a free app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, generating revenue though advertising.

However, its release has been hit by delays as Apple negotiates with record labels who are seeking an upfront percentage of the ad revenue in addition to an upfront fee.

Concerned record labels include Sony, which is contesting the rate per song offered by Apple.

Apple has not officially announced the app despite a “radio button” being found on hacked (devices with full control of the OS) iPads.
