The BAFTA mask has been given a video game style makeover for the British Academy Games Awards, which will make its on-screen debut in the highlights show on Challenge on Monday 11 March.

A video sequence, created by Starstruck Media Creative, looks at the history of gaming and shows the mask in various video game genres: arcade; adventure; driving and outer space.

Starstruck Media Creative’s Adrian Dickson said: “The idea was to turn the BAFTA mask into a video star. It has been a consistent witness to the evolution of gaming, with all its breakthroughs and milestones.

“The mask is always evolving, upgrading, winning. And at the end of the day, everyone wants to win this award!”

The concept, which BAFTA will use across all its gaming activity, was devised by Starstruck Media Creative’s Adrian Dickson and James Delow and designed by Jonathan Gallagher.
