International recruitment provider Cobalt Recruitment and price comparison site makeitcheaper.com have both joined the books of The Discerning Digital Consultancy, a new consultancy launched by Guardian Media Group Radio’s ex-head of digital Richard Lucas and former head of digital operations at BJL and Studio North Ian Patterson.
The consultancy focuses on helping businesses increase their customer value using modern strategies, marketing services and communication techniques.
The Discerning Digital Consultancy is also working with an un-named US based radio group.
In their previous role Lucas and Patterson were responsible for a comprehensive transformation initiative at GMG Radio prior to its sale, resulting in the launch of a new content publishing platform, websites, mobile apps, social content and search strategy.
Of the launch Lucas commented: “Undertaking such a large modernisation project across multiple radio stations and regions gave us the idea to set-up the new consultancy. 2013 has been widely publicised as ‘the end of the digital beginning’ when businesses will look to evolve their existing strategies, with digital innovation at the core. It occurred to us that other businesses and brands could benefit from our unique experience.”
Patterson added: “Agencies want to work with digitally capable clients, but there’s very little strategic support for in-house teams who want to make practical steps towards digital transformation. Discerning Digital focuses on this gap, as well as offering content and project management services.”
