"Polished” version of Google Glass to go on sale this year for under $1,500

According to a report from the Verge, Google has confirmed that a “polished version” of Google Glass will be for sale by the end of 2013, and for “less than $1,500.”

This is the first definitive piece of information Google has released on the Google Glass project, with previous unconfirmed reports varying in information on both when it would be released and how much it would cost the consumer.

The confirmation of an end-of-year release comes as Google unveiled a new video on Wednesday 20 February for the wearable headset, which gave substantially more detail about its functionality and a more accurate depiction of how it will actually look. So far the video has attracted more than 10.2 million views.

I don't see the point! What I can see is idiots using them while driving and being killed, as well as killing others! Who want's to be like a robot, it's bad enough having to wear glasses to see, let alone for this. I see a new expression, "Hi Google eyes!". I suppose that opticians will be happy, more people ruining their eyesight.

Technology's always developing, as is the way in which we use it. We can say that Google Glass is for "idiots" now, but many said that about those who bought satnavs for their cars when they were first released: "Can't you use a map, you idiot?"

It wasn't long ago that marketing publications had no websites, and now look how different things are. But then is this really an improvement? After all, what kind of idiot would waste time commenting on a news article on thedrum.com? ;-)
