A tongue-in-cheek Paddy Power billboard ad campaign launched last weekend suggesting high-earning Premiership footballers who spend a lot of time on the subs bench should take on a second job to earn their wage packet.

After a comment made on the bookies' Facebook page asking why players were being paid millions to sit on the bench, the idea of #2ndjobsforsubs was created. Suggestions include toilet cleaning for Andrei Arshavin at Arsenal and a job flipping burgers at Chelsea for Fernando Torres.

A spokesman for Paddy Power insisted the campaign was firmly in clubs' interests: "We want to help clubs out in any way we can and making the most of a squad's talents, whether that's driving the team bus or flipping the buyers outside the ground, has never been more crucial. We're calling on managers to do the right thing and make #2ndjobsforsubs a reality."

Don't forget, if you're looking for a job you can browse the latest on The Drum's job section. Footballers welcome.
