Yahoo! has refreshed its web and mobile web homepage in the US in order to simplify and personalise its offering.

Speaking via her online blog Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer said the new homepage had been “designed to be more intuitive and personal” adding that “the new Yahoo! experience is all about your interests and preferences.”

The homepage now includes a personalised newsfeed with infinite scroll allowing users to experience a “virtually endless feed of news articles”. Yahoo! users will be able to customise their newsfeed interests and in a bid to make the site more social users can now log in via Facebook as well as with their Yahoo! ID’s.

Newly designed applications also feature on the remodelled home page including local weather forecasts and Facebook friends’ birthdays. Editorial features such as the daily snapshot the popular trending web search information have also been refreshed.

Mayer adds that the site has also “been optimised for smartphones and tablets” and “thanks to some under-the-hood improvements, Yahoo! is also faster”.

There is no word if these changes will be implanted to Yahoo! homepages out with the US.
