Sir Jony Ive awarded gold Blue Peter badge
Apple design chief, Sir Jony Ive, has been awarded the coveted gold Blue Peter badge for being an “inspiration to children around the world.”
Ive said that receiving the badge was "absolutely incredible".
Ive appeared in a gadget-themed Blue Peter show today, Saturday 16 February, offering advice to budding young designers.
Interviewed by Blue Peter presenter Barney Harwood, Ive spoke of his love of the show when he was growing up: "I loved the way there was just products that you thought were no longer useful, but reusing them," he said. "It was fantastic."
Ive went on to present Blue Peter a badge he had designed made out of solid aluminium, manufactured by Apple's equipment, using the programme's catchphrase: "Here's one that we made earlier".
