">former Kate Middleton to bed than a fresh row has erupted, this time over an Italian gossip mags decision to publish pictures of a pregnant Duchess of Cambridge on holiday in her bikini.

Chi carried the controversial shots in a front page splash this morning, reopening the debate on press freedom that began with the same publications reproduction of a topless Kate on her last holiday in September.

An image of the front cover posted on Chi’s website reads ‘Kate & William in Mustique: The belly grows’, an act which St James’s Palace has described as ‘a clear breach of the couples right to privacy.’

Whilst the Royals are fair game in Europe Britain’s notoriously rabid tabloid press have kept themselves on a tight leash amidst the ongoing fallout from the phone-hacking inquiry.
