In light of the news that Findus has been selling lasagnes containing up to 80 per cent horse meat, discount voucher website www.MyDeals.com has created the Horse Lasagne Calculator, allowing people to work out how many horses they will eat in a lifetime.

Assuming the calculator user ate only lasagnes from the brand associated with the discovery of horsemeat, the calculator provides a way for members of the public to estimate and share just how many horses they’ll consume in a lifetime.

Tom Packer, founder of MyDeals.com said: “Given a certain brand of lasagne has been found to contain up to 80 per cent horsemeat, we thought it was in public interest to trot another horse meat calculator out. We’d disagree with anybody that says we’re flogging a dead horse.

“The company is having a mare and we do feel for them, but the decision to create another calculator was an easy one. As we said last time, our message as a discount website is clear – paying value prices shouldn’t have to mean you’re buying an inferior product.”
