Fresh from the launch of two new smartphones BlackBerry is extrapolating the notion that the best things in life come in pairs with the appointment of two new board directors.

Richard ‘Dick’ Lynch, retired executive vice-president of Verizon and Bert Nordberg, former CEO of Sony Ericsson Mobile will warm two new seats in the firm’s board of directors.

The pair will join 10 existing board members who have each been entrusted with formulating strategies to claw back market share from the likes of Samsung and Apple to the Canadian firm.

Commenting on their appointment, Board Chair Barbara Stymiest said, “We are very pleased to add the talent and industry knowledge of these two respected executives to our Board. We are looking forward to their contributions as we continue to drive for long-term shareholder value and seek opportunities to leverage the extraordinary BlackBerry 10 platform launched last week.”
