Google buys marketing services company from ICG Group for $125 million

Google has paid $125 million for marketing services company Channel Intelligence Inc.

The group, which is partly owned by ICG Group Inc, which buys and builds internet software and services firms, helps retailers, manufacturers and other advertisers make their products and services easier for consumers to find and buy online and in local stores.

ICG will reportedly receive $60.5 million from the deal for its share of Channel Intelligence, the takeover is expected to be finalised within Q1 2013.
