Web shop, printed.com, and youth homeless charity, Centrepoint, have teamed up to launch a competition giving young designers the chance to showcase their talents, while supporting the charity’s work helping young homeless people.

The competition has challenged designers to create a piece of direct mail which will promote Centrepoint’s involvement with ‘Give as You Live’, a downloadable widget that enables consumers to easily donate to the charity.

Entrants have been asked to come up with an A5 sized, single-sided design for use as a direct mail shot, with the winning direct mail design being distributed to up to 5,000 UK recipients courtesy of printed.com.

The competition will be judged by a panel including Andy Barwood, creative partner at Karmarama, David Harris, executive creative director at Wunderman, Justin Moore, creative director/partner at BBH and Shormeh Omaboe, DM manager at Centrepoint.

Nick Green, CEO of printed.com, said of the competition: “Creativity is a passion for our business so I am looking forward to seeing the designs that the competition attracts from the UK’s best young design talent. Centrepoint’s work is also very close to my heart so the fact that we will be supporting the charity’s exemplary work with young homeless people is an incredibly positive thing.”

David Harris, executive creative director at Wunderman, also added: “The competition poses an interesting challenge so I am looking forward to seeing the ideas that the UK’s best young design talent has to offer. This is a unique opportunity for those hoping to break into any creative industry to give their work some invaluable exposure, as well as support a very worthy cause.”
