Peter Jones, sofa bound star of Dragon’s Den, has further diversified his portfolio with the acquisition of the Jessop’s brand.
Jones is part of a group which purchased the name of the collapsed High Street camera retailer named by administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers.
In a statement the administrator said: “We can confirm we have sold the brand and certain other assets to a number of buyers including entrepreneur Peter Jones CBE."
It is thought that the deal encompasses purely the brand name and certain leftover stock with no indication that any of the retailer’s stores 187 branches will reopen their doors.
All parties are remaining tight lipped as to the sums expended on the purchase.

LOL that's so funny Jones is always criticising people in the Den about pouring money into useless things and now he goes and buys Jessops.
At a time when the high street is dead. Traditional film cameras and developing have long gone, even printing your prints can be done on your home printer or online, and most camera's are bought through Amazon or eBay, and people who want top of the range DSLR's tend to bypass the middle men and go straight to the manufacturer.
The only way he could make Jessops work is to close all the shops and launch it only online and outsource most of the online operations to Amazon.
