Video gaming giant Sega is to begin a TV marketing campaign to promote the forthcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines game.

The campaign, created by Uber, aims to emulate the ‘hardcore military world’ of the space marines, which saw the agency work alongside animation house Axis Studios.

Axis has already created an online trailer for the game, which was released last year.

A previously released teaser of the game managed over 1 million hits on YouTube within a week, while the two minute trailer and TV advert highlight a number of scenarios from the game itself, through a first person’s viewpoint.

Richard Benjamin, managing director of Uber, commented: “Being handed the brief to create a trailer and TV campaign for one of the most anticipated games of the year and one of the greatest movies of all-time was not only a dream project for the Uber team, but also meant a huge amount of pressure to produce a piece of cinematic CG work that would completely capture the primal impact of the Alien franchise and stay true to what made the original movies so groundbreaking.”

The campaign will run from 8 February, ahead of the game’s release on 12 February across Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3.
