Air New Zealand has announced that it is to turn itself into Cilla Black for the Valentine’s Day, with a campaign to help singles find love.

The ‘blind gate’ campaign sees Air New Zealand sending ten singletons to meet two potential dates, where they will have to take part in a series of challenges to test compatibility before winning a trip to LA on ANZ’s "cuddle class".

The winning couples will leave on their date on 14 February, and will return on 18 February.

The Guardian, who is involved in the campaign, said: “A camera crew will be following the winners' exploits in Los Angeles, and their stories will also feature in the Guardian's Saturday supplement, Weekend. So if you're publicity shy, it's best not to apply.”

The competition is open for entries until 23:59 on 1 February.
