Video sharing site Dailymotion, which hosts over 30 million videos, is to partner with video search engine blinkx in order to improve the site’s access to its video library.

The partnership will see blinkx embed the Dailymotion player alongside its own content, while advertising will also run against these videos, with a revenue share deal having been agreed between the two companies.

S. Brian Mukherjee, CEO of blinkx, said that the partnership would enhance its own video index with a variety of video content. "Adding Dailymotion to our strong roster of partners enables us to continue to grow our index of up-to-date videos and ensure we deliver our video-viewing audience the very best in entertainment content."

Luc Dumont, senior vice president of Dailymotion added that the integration of blinkx’s system within the Dailymotion Publisher platform offers ‘validation’ of the network's growth, value and reach. "Our Publisher Network offers a tangible incentive for publishers like blinkx to give incremental visibility to the Dailymotion player across their digital network: it means more content, more time spent and now more monetization."

According to blinkx, the search engine has signed over 800 partners and indexed over 35 million hours of video and audio content.
