With today, 21 January being selected as ‘the most depressing day of the year’ or to give it it’s proper moniker ‘Blue Monday’ marketing services agency WCRS has created a website that aims to counter the feeling of depression that today is expected to bring.

The third Monday of January is recognised as being the most depressing day of each year, which led to WCRS creating Hip Hip Today, a website that aims to counter negative media stories in order to highlight ‘heartwarming’ stories to bring a smile to its viewer’s faces.

Quoting the famous Lion King song, Ross Neil, creative director at WCRS, said: “Hakuna matata, it means no worries for the rest of your life. Well, unfortunately we do have worries and media land doesn’t mind telling us all about them. I’d never even heard of a triple-dip recession until recently. So on the darkest day of the year it’s good to know that cats can find their way home from hundreds of miles away and that good things really do actually happen.”

The site includes stories of community spirit, pets, reunions and ‘medical marvels’.
