International communications and media group Havas has restructured to form a new media organisation entitled Havas Media Group, consisting of all of its media agencies operating across 126 territories.

The move includes the rebranding of MPG and digital brand Arena Media and will be supported through the creation of a simplified structure that aims to place media and digital at the heart of the business.

Managing the new organisation will be media group CEO Alfonso Rhodes, while CEO of Havas Media France will become global managing director of Havas Media Group, reporting to Rhodes.

Meanwhile, Michel Sibony will take on the role of global head of middle office, which will see him oversee the management of all global planning and buying operations, alongside digital and specialist services and Jordi Ustrel will oversee the group’s global support services, becoming global head of back office.

Rhodes explained that the “explosion of digital” meant that siloed media could not longer be used to deliver effective communications strategies.

“This new media model integrates our digital expertise ‘at the core’ of our organisation promoting greater agility between all our teams and disciplines…by reorganising our teams, changing the lines of reporting and investing in building company-wide digital fluency, we put ourselves in a unique position within the industry,” he added.

The brand is scheduled to be relaunched on 24 January, including the release of a new identity.
