McDonald’s Ireland has unveiled two new adverts to promote its EuroSaver menu entitled ‘The Day Before Payday’.

Created by Cawley Nea \ TBWA (Dublin) and The Gate, creatives on the job were Jessica Kiang and Adam Crane. The ads were shot over three days, two on location in Manchester and one in Dublin, and were directed by Gate comedy director Chris Balmond.

Centred around the idea of ‘The Humble Coin’, Balmond explained: “We had to re-elevate the coin to how it once was - the staple of buried treasure.

“When ends don’t quite meet, a simple coin can mean the difference between drudgery and joy. Therefore the focus of the commercials is on those moments of discovery.”

All post production was handled by Edit 19 in Manchester.
