Scandal hit Blackburn Rovers are seeking to put a halt to a series of PR own goals with the appointment of The Sports PR Company to improve their media image.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph Venky’s, the clubs owners, have recruited the London based agency on a trial period through to the summer and will be handed the tricky task of building the club's profile and image whilst steering sponsorship deals their way.

The most immediate challenge facing the PR firm however will keeping a lid on fan anger at perceived mismanagement of the club, sentiment which boiled over following Blackburn's relegation to the Championship.
