Amazon has announced that it is expanding its London-based Digital Media Development Centre, which opened in September 2012.

The centre comprises design and development teams for its two companies Pushbutton and LoveFilm and creates new digital media projects including interactive services for TVs, game consoles and smartphones.

The centre also works on the development of the digital media experience on Amazon websites around the world.

As part of the expansion, Amazon is also looking for 100 new software development engineers, user-interface experts and graphic designers.

Paula Byrne, managing director at the development centre, said: “We have always known that there is a wealth of tech talent here in London and we continue to look for the most creative minds in the UK to work on the next generation of TV and film services for Amazon customers all over the world.”
