Ex-bankrupt Kerry Katona becomes brand ambassador for payday loans company CashLady

Kerry Katona has been announced as the face of payday loans company, CashLady.

The Celebrity Big Brother contestant has starred in CashLady’s campaign, including its 30-second TV advertisements as well as appearing in the homepage of the brand’s website.

In the ads, which launched across 26 channels on January 8, she alludes to her own debt problems which saw her declared bankrupt in 2008.

Despite controversy over short-term loan companies due to their high levels of interest, Katona said of the service: "The reason I was happy to work with CashLady is that they're committed to being a responsible part of the payday loan industry.

"They're constantly doing their best to make sure that customers get as much information as possible, and were one of the first companies to put up clear responsible lending information including where customers can get free financial advice at times when they're struggling."

"I've been through money troubles enough myself, so I know how difficult it can be when you need cash at the wrong time.”

For some reason:

"They're constantly doing their best to make sure that customers get as much information as possible, and were one of the first companies to put up clear responsible lending information including where customers can get free financial advice at times when they're struggling."

doesn't sound like the sort of thing she would say

Well, I think that it would be strange that a person who has never faced any financial problems would be an ambassador for a payday loan company. So I think that Kerry Katona will look naturally in this role. The most important that CashLady to keep its promises and really provided its consumers all the necessary information. Unfortunately, there are so many people who think that applying for a payday loan is just a way to get cash easily and don't take this service seriously. But later they understand that they have taken out an extremely expensive loan and start to complain that all the lenders are predatory. For the lending companies it's necessary to stay in touch with their consumers and don't approve any loan applications until it won't be clear that the borrower knows the interest rate on a loan and ready to take responsibility for his/her actions. Everybody makes money the way he can. Kerry decided that it is time to make some cash posting for CashLady - it is better than selling her body. Another question if she had better options than posing in this advert. If she had than she would have pursued them. Payday loan lenders are often demonized but in fact provide money to people who have nowhere else to go. And for some these loans even may be life savers - who knows.
