The International Wine Challenge (IWC), owned by William Reed Business Media, has selected Manifest London to work as its PR agency throughout 2013.

Manifest has now been tasked with educating consumers to the IWC’s iconic marque and enhancing international consumer recognition for the competition.

Of the appointment, event director at the International Wine Challenge, Chris Ashton, said: “We were very impressed with the creativity and approach of Manifest, which is totally different to the approach we have taken to PR in previous years.

“In our 30th year we want to continue to grow, improve and break the mould, and we believe Manifest are the team to help us do that.”

The IWC is traditionally hosted in London during April, and last year included wines from 50 countries. The judging panel includes familiar industry faces such as Oz Clark, Tim Atkin MW and Charles Metcalfe.

Manifest’s track record in drinks marketing will be beneficial to its work with the IWC as the agency already handles PR and social media for Scottish brewery, BrewDog.

Manifest London director Alex Myers added: “The International Wine Challenge is the world’s foremost wine competition and it’s fantastic to be involved.

“Our challenge is to bring the IWC to new audiences and educate those shopping for wine about what to look out for; it’s an exciting brief and we can’t wait to get started.”
