WPP's GroupM acquires majority stake in PLAY Communication

WPP has announced that its global media investment management arm GroupM has acquired a majority stake in Sydney-based experiential marketing agency PLAY Communication Pty Ltd (PLAY).

PLAY clients include Volkswagen, Qantas, Coty and ASOS among others. Since its launch in 2002 PLAY offers activation, sponsorship, digital and branding services and currently employees over 20 members of staff.

The agency’s unaudited revenues for the financial year ending 30 June 2012 were approximately A$4.1 million, with gross assets to the same date of approximately A$2.8 million.
