Throughout this year, The Drum and the Viral Ad Network have been bringing you a weekly update of the most shared videos online - and now we have analysed the data from our charts to bring you the definitive run down of this year's most popular virals based on Facebook and Twitter shares…

With an enormous 10m shares, the emotive Kony 2012 film takes top spot in the Brand Chart. Together this year's top 10 have clocked up more than double the number of shares and views than those from 2011, most of which would never have even made it into the top 10 if they had been released this year.

There have been no shortage of great parody videos this year, so perhaps it's no surprise that a Chatroulette version of Carly Rae Jepson's unavoidable Call Me Maybe takes top spot in the User Generated Content Chart with 2m shares.

The weekly viral charts will return in the New Year.
