A video drawing together the stand out moments and key statistics from the world of social media in 2012 has been pulled together by Space & Time Media – documenting key events such as the Diamond Jubilee, Olympics and US Presidential race.

The advertising agency’s Social Media 2012 review highlights the growth in the sector over the past 12 months with Facebook smashing through the 1bn mark and Twitter opening up a clear lead over young pretenders such as Google+ and Pinterest.

In a statement Space & Time Media said: “… members are not the only numbers view, it's the engagements that are taking place every second that are the real story.

Global communication without boundaries, business, friendships, events all intensified by the engaging nature of the medium and what a year 2012 was from the British Royal Diamond Jubilee through to American Presidential election, each breaking records along the way.”
